Dorothy Moore, Class of 1954, who has been serving since 1994 as the executive secretary of the Southern Industrial Institute (SII) and Lyman Ward Military Academy Alumni Association, is retiring in late December.

In her honor, the Board of Directors and Officers of the Alumni Association is hosting a retirement reception on Saturday, December 7, 2002, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. in the new Alumni Center.

All of the Alumni Association (and friends) are invited to attend.

Here are some more interesting facts about Dorothy:

Attended Lyman Ward School for the senior year in 1953-54.
Graduated from Jacksonville State University in Jan. 1959.
Taught at Camp Hill High School in 1959.
Operated a private kindergarten in 1960-61.
Substituted at Camp Hill High School 1964-1969.
Taught at Tallapoosa Academy from 1970-1982.
Sentinel sponsor at Lyman Ward from 1990-1994.
Alumni/Museum Director 1994-2002.
Retirement plans- travels, enjoy grandchildren, work on genealogy.
