Subject: Excerpts form a note on the Message Board about the Alumni Assocation.I have kept up with several school happening's and it appears things are hopping. I am extremely pleased to see us recognize our WWII veterans.
I think Tim Parker is doing an admirable job as association president and sincerely wish to thank him for his time and effort as well as everyone else who has had a hand in trying to bring alumni back into the fold. I have e-mailed several people with no response. Perhaps something is wrong with my system. If any of you have received e-mail from me and haven't responded, please do so. I have let Dorothy know I will help with the committee to recruit lost alumni and have forwarded some information to her on those I knew something about.
Let me take this opportunity to encourage everyone to get involved in establishing a viable Alumni Association that can be not only be a support group for the school, but also an avenue from which we don't lose touch with our own heritage. The camradarie experienced and friendships made through the school and the association certainly represent a special time in my past, present, and future. Of course I am extremely biased because my grandparents were married in Camp Hill and my grandmother as a child wanted to attend SII but her parents elected to keep her on the farm to help the family. No matter if you were there for a short period of time or a lengthy stay, LWMA became a part of your heritage and from my point of view, a portion which I hope will endure for many years after I've left this world. Make the phone calls, send the e-mails, spend a little time with fellow alumni, encourage a friend to check out LWMA as a place to educate his or her son, do whatever your capable of doing in order to make this association viable.
See you all in the spring,
Sizemore('76)
