Subject: The Alumni Association needs YOUR HELP!

Please help Tim Parker ('70) parkplce@pcola.gulf.net and the "Recruiting Committee" to build an Alumni Association that any and all alumni would be proud of. Even if you are unable to volunteer for the "Recruiting Committee, we can all think about doing some or all of the following.

If you are in contact with any alumni, please, give them a call and tell them we need their support. Look up some names in the phone book and give them a call. This is one of the things a lot of us did for the 1988 "1960's Reunion" that turned out so well. Not just because of what any one person did, but because we had many alumni around the country calling too. That was a form of a "Recruiting Committee" that Tim Parker is building right now.

We need to support the Alumni Association. Yes, that means many things; Coming to the meetings and get-togethers in the May; Coming to the Homecoming football game (and any LWMA sport in your area) and the Homeconing Saturday open house and other activities in October; Keeping in contact with the Alumni office with your news and keeping your mailing and e-mail address up to date. (You can do that by e-mailing Phillip M. Potts ('63) at Phillip Potts right now); Pay your $20.00 yearly dues. (Not too much money I think); Donate any amount you can to Dr. Lyman Ward Scholarship Fund. I know Mrs. Moore will accept small sums.

If you have any other skill or product that can be used, they will take that too. Two examples I can think of are:
1. We have new computer equipment that was donated by Tim Parker ('70), E.J. Ostberg ('61), and others.
2. This web site that many folks have enjoyed was set up and maintained by Phil Potts ('63) free of charge to the Alumni Association and the school. I help Phil where I can, and many other alumni, teachers and staff members (former and current) have contributed stories and images to help us maintain an alumni web site that is unique as far as I can see. And.... A big THANK YOU goes out to all those who have helped in the past!

At the web site, we have always emphasized our love of the school, and friendship for each other and our faculty and staff members with careful thought and sometimes humor.

But, right now, the Alumni Association needs YOUR HELP to build up a large base of dues paying menders so that more people will be able to have a voice in the Alumni Association and the Alumni Association may have louder voice on the LWMA campus. The truth is, the volume only goes up with larger numbers of active members and more funds.
