Anyone from 1977 should remember the great gas truck fire that took place while we were on the drill field. It was sure a hot one that day.

Expound on that a bit. Perhaps it is one that Brian can write up and place in the mega-stories that we have..:)

I can't remember what the date was. It had to be a Tuesday or Thursday. We were drilling; I was in the color guard when this gas truck went by the drill field. I went down past where Col. Hovey lived and ran off the road an burst in to flames. Each time the fire reach a new baffle in the tanker it would blow up. We thought it was the great at the time.

I am sure it was quite an event..:)

Those things that broke the norm always generated excitement. Hope the driver was ok though.
